The first half of the 3rd, we went to the Red, White, & Zoo event at Grassmere with Leslie and Sutton. We didn't do much "zooing" since we can do that anytime and we had a
long day ahead of us. They had the event field set up with a hot dog buffet (chips, beans, slaw, cookies, drinks- the works), hula hoops, bean bag toss, toddler horse shoes, bouncy houses, face painting, pie-eating contests.... lots of fun stuff!! The kids had a loads of fun, but were definitely in dire need of a nap before taking on the second half of the day!!
Lunch time!

Cheater :)

They wanted to do the slides OVER AND OVER AND OVER...

She's getting good! It's probably a lot easier when your hula hoop isn't bent in three places like ours is at home.

And Cale's picture was in the Tennessean!

Cale West, 2, of Hendersonville, plays with the Hoola-Hoops at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere's Red, White and Zoo, an all-American cookout featuring games, face painting, plenty of hot dogs and entertainment Friday, July 3 at the zoo
