Six out of seven days this week I had to take a Treximet pill to knock out an oncoming migraine. SIX. And my Topamax dosage has already been upped twice AND we have added Neurontin, another migraine preventative, which is also a sedative which was supposed to help me sleep. For three days, I have been wide-awake in our bed ill as a fish that I am not asleep. I am probably still getting migraines because I'm not sleeping, but I don't know what else to do if a darn sedative isn't knocking me out! I am supposed to double the Neurontin every three days, but I'm a little nervous about that just because Nathan leaves at 3am and I'm afraid that eventually it will work and will work too well when I am there alone with the kids. I don't want something to happen in the wee hours of the morning and here's Mommy all sedated in the bed while the kids are running wild! (Well, not the twins, because they are zipped up in their tent! HAHAHA. It's still funny.)
I go back to the neurologist AGAIN on the 30th to see if we need to up the Topamax dosage AGAIN, I'm just frustrated that it doesn't seem to be working already. At this point, all it's done is make me lose feeling in my hands and feet, make me lose my memory, make me lose (some) weight (I think... I gave up weighing for Lent so I'm not really sure on that part), and make me lose my ability to taste any cokes... but the headaches are still taunting me. Jerks.
Just really, really hoping for some relief very soon. You would think I would be used to it at this point, they have been a part of my daily life for soooo long, but I need it to be over. I'm annoyed, but trying to keep praying that the end is near!

I didn't know you had migraines. I had an allergic reaction to Topamax so I can't take it. BUMMER. I do take a Topamax pretty regularly, but with my Neurontin (or however you spell it) I have to take Butalbutol (again, spelling) and 2 Benedryl. That's what makes me sleep and the cocktail of those four pills together does wonders for me. You might ask your doctor about it. Have their figured out what are causing yours?
