Pumpkin Prep... sort of.

We managed to set aside a night for pumpkin prep. On the first night, the only things accomplished was the purchasing of the pumpkins.

The second night we got so far as scooping the guts and carving an eye or two. This took a little longer than planned and involved more than one comment by Nathan about how he "didn't one of those silly sissy kits- just his trusty knife will do the job, thank-you-very-much". We enjoyed watching him sweat the night, which included "pumpkin" pizza and Once Upon a Time.

Guess who came home with a silly sissy pumpkin carving kit the next day?

But Day 3 just didn't lend the time so you get what you get. The pumpkins made it to the porch, even if the candles to light them stayed on the counter for two more days.

I kind of love them anyway.

On Halloween night, Nana pointed out their jack-o-lantern to the kids and Brynnie very proudly proclaimed, "Ours are almost done!!".
