The PG version of Halloween.

We usually go ALL out for Halloween. I love it!
Big party, big costumes, the whole shebang. Time and money just didn't allow it this year and guess what... we still had a blast!

My kids are stinking cute- Cale in his $3 Tony Stewart (yes, we know Logano drives it now, but he prefers that it is Tony Stewart) costume that he's been wearing every day for a month already, Layla as a sparkly little carhop ($7- consignment), and Brynn as the prettiest Jasmine there ever was ($9- half off bc there was a tear under the armpit).

Every year they complain that we don't trick-or-treat. This year, we decided to grant their wish (as it is all about them, afterall) and NOT drive house-to-house visiting every member of our family and let them actually trick-or-treat for the first time ever.

Of course, that didn't work out.

We started getting them ready as soon as they got home from school (another reason 3:45 is TOO late to get home from school!) but by the time they were ready, it was later than we had hoped. We stopped at Richland where we have two great grandparents, a great aunt, and a great great grandmother :)  That also took a little longer than planned and we didn't see everybody! Stopped for one more great before heading to trunk or treat on Main St.

Well, I'll be darned if everyone didn't run out of candy and pack up early! We crossed the street to the church who was also doing trunk or treat and they were done too!

Bummer.

The kids handled it well though and we've made BIG promises to really really trick or treat next year.
We still had a blast :)
