NYE

So, the kids and I drove the 9 hours home from the beach on Wednesday night, the 30th, and got home around 10pm. The next day was New Year's Eve. We had to unpack, clean up the house, re-pack their bags for an overnight stay at my parents, get some groceries- we had NOTHING, go to my brother's wedding rehearsal, and then I had a dance gig in Nashvile for the rest of the night. It was a wee-bit stressful that day, but once I got where I needed to be it ended up being pretty fun =)

The concept for the event was really cool, there were three stages set up for three different bands. One was a country band, one an 80s band, and one Top 40. They each played 40 min sets, right after another. Six of us were hired as dancers, and we were dressed for our own genre of music. Obviously, I was a country girl =)

We were hired for five hours, with the intention of getting breaks every 90 mins or so, but it didn't really work out that way and we ended up only getting one 10 min. break the whole night. The party was fun, the music was great, there was plenty of water, the other dancers were great to work with... but man, my body hasn't done anything like that in a LONG time! Not to mention, I would have a handful of ladies at my house at 9am the next morning getting ready for a wedding! Phew! After a crazy Christmas week and quickie trip to the beach, I definitely required some IB Profen to keep up the New Year's energy for the whole night! ha. That makes me feel soooo old! I think I pulled it off though =)

ha. Yes, yes... I get paid to do THIS. I told you I was losing it by the end of the night. I promise I was better when I was onstage where everyone could see, lol.
