Last Thursday with Evan...

Evan came to spend the day with us last Thursday and it was sooo much fun. Lately it seems like we only get to see him at family dinners and birthdays and that's just not enough to time to really enjoy the little fella. And he is SO enjoyable. Little man CRACKS ME UP. He sure does love his Amma :) And Amma loves it!

He started off saying that he was NOT going to play with Brynn OR Cale (because they are crazy he says, lol) but that didn't last very long at all! We played and played and played, had lunch, and played some more! Gator rides, swing sets, flower picking, and pirates! They covered it all!

Getting very tired after a long day!

My blogging life is not at all insync with our actual life! The last week has been so insanely busy, there is so much I need to catch you (YOU being my loyal and faithful readers, lol) up on! The last several days were so full of exciting things for our family, and it's just going to keep rolling over the next days/weeks/months... so me and my old crappy computer will do our best to catch up as soon as we can!

Seriously though, even though there isn't a lot of hard core stuff written down on our calendar for the next couple of days, the next several weeks are going to be C-R-A-Z-Y.

Nathan and I get this coming weekend to recoop/prepare and are spending the entire weekend at Opryland. We are SOOOO excited. It was our Christmas gift from all of my parents and its the first weekend we have had a chance to use it and it's the last weekend we will have a chance to use it before he activates in EIGHT... yes, eight weeks. We are going to eat at Old Hickory (yuuuuuuum), get massages, go to a movie, maybe do a little shopping, SLEEP IN!, and whatever else WE want to do together! SO excited. =)

Then the next weekend is my marathon! I am excited, but not at all ready. Ha. I know I'm not, but I am freaking determined so let's just get it over with. I may not be able to walk for two weeks afterward, but I WILL do it! And we have a birthday party that weekend too. I will also be spending that weekend working on Stacey's wedding since she will have less than a month to go at that point! Yay!

Nathan has another super-drill the weekend after that and Layla has children's theater. We have wedding plans for Stacey and it's Mother's Day weekend. The weekend after that we are in Alabama so Nathan and the boys can actually RACE at Talledega!!

The weekend after that we are in GA for Stacey's wedding! I can't wait!!!

Another drill the first weekend in June. Stacey's reception the next weekend. And he activates that week. See. INSANELY BUSY.

Something every.single.weekend. between now and June 19. It's going to be a lot of fun, but you know what they say when you're having fun! It's going to fly by and there's nothing we can do to slow it down! And then he'll be gone...

Baby Fever!

It's official, everyone in the house has caught it now! I always have a taste of it and probably always will, but once Nathan caught the bug, it made it SO much worse! Now, Layla has started asking all the time how much longer it's going to be until we can have another baby! I told her it's going to be quite a long time, and to remember that Daddy is going away for a while and it won't be until after he comes back. She said, "I don't know, Mommy... I think God is getting his stuff together." Even a few weeks ago, when I was holding sweet Charlotte, Brynn said "Baby home." and she said the same thing when I held Ava Lou.

It is completely illogical right now as we have no more money, no more room, no more hands (!)... but I don't know what it is that makes you ache for another little one so! Maybe it's Spring and new life! Maybe it's the fact that babies are just so precious and soft and snuggly! Maybe it's the fact that they are still and can't go anywhere and they don't try to flush barbies down the toilet or write on the walls with your lipstick while you are trying to remove contortionist barbie from the plumbing, or pour all the cereal out of the box and stomp on it while you are scrubbing 'raspberry sorbet' lip color from your 'serenity' walls, or wash their own face in tutti fruiti toothpaste while you sweep up a pile of crunched up frosted flakes. I just don't know.

But we want one =)

Maybe it's this little guy, Kirby, that I worked with last weekend. I swear, if I could have fit him in my camera bag, I would have snatched him right up and taken him home with me....
