Fict or Fact?

Another blogger mom and another mom on one of my boards requested that I entertain them by doing this, so I will comply. Although, I will have to think hard to find a whole 25 interesting things about me that you might now know. I need to start being a little more mysterious I guess.

1. I won't answer the door for the pizza man, or any delivery man for that matter. It feels confrontational, so I hide while Nathan does it. Or, if he isn't home, I hand Layla the check and stand behind the door. EVEN THOUGH, I once delivered pizza myself... for one day.

2. I danced for an episode of the Gene Simmons: Family Jewels show a couple months ago. I have no idea when it airs and I don't plan on telling you.

3. I don't put clothes on our kids everyday unless we are leaving the house. I see no reason for them to dirty an outfit while staying home.

4. I love the sound of crunching leaves. If we are walking and their are dry/dead leaves on the ground, it is just understood that I get to step on them.

5. I am YEARS behind in scrapbooking. I have completed Layla's 2nd year and started Brynn & Cale's adoption book but haven't done anything since the babies came home and don't even know where all my stuff is.

6. I wish I could buy everything in the Mini Boden catalogue.

7. I can never have enough rain jackets, pajama pants, shoes, sunglasses, jeans, or swimsuits.

8. I have had migraines since I was 6 years old. I finally scheduled an appt. with a neurologist to try to get them under control.

9. I have only taken my kids to the doctor three times (total, in almost 5 years) that wasn't for a well-check. I just don't do the doctor thing unless absolutely necessary.

10. My ickthus tattoo has a stretch mark going thru it... and I like it. (But that's probably only bc it is a reminder of our miracle baby). I loooved being pregnant.

11. I was accepted into a program in college to spend a semester in Wales and I let Nathan talk me out of going at the last minute.

12. I threw away half of the kids' Christmas presents within a week. Some of them were immediately put into my "To be consigned" pile without ever being openned, but others lost pieces or caused fights or made a mess, so we threw them away.

13. Nathan and I can have complete and valid conversations using only quotes from our favorite movies.

14. I have a hard time deciding what a 26-yr-old mom of three is supposed to dress like- I always seem to either have the "mom" look OR the "20-something" look, but haven't quite figured out how to blend the two.

15. I am really frustrated with trying to find a church. There is something "wrong" with every one we have tried- too big, too small, need better music, need more enthusiastic sermons, not diverse enough, no other adoptive families... I'm tired of searching and I just want to find "the one" and I still believe it's out there.

16. As soon as we get our feet back on the ground, we are going to start saving for another baby. We are ready now, except that we have no money and our house is too small. Oh, and Nathan is leaving for 7 months. But once all that is under control, neither of us can wait to bring home another one.

17. I have lists upon lists of baby names in a notebook (Ginny can account for this!). My favorites are listed by sex in alphabetical order, and then they are divided by nature names, unisex names, surnames, place names, etc.

18. I am not ticklish and it makes me sad. It seems like fun, but it just ain't happening.

19. I do NOT like to be touched behind my knees, behind my ankles, or on the inside of my elbows for any reason. It really freaks me out.

20. I still truly believe I could have been a movie star. And still daydream about it from time to time.

21. I have a journal that contains nothing but quotes. Any random thing I run across that makes me think, makes me laugh, makes me cry... I write it down in my quote book. Which is completely falling apart at this point.

22. I like to draw, with pencils, and I'm actually not that bad.

23. I am probably going back to school with Nathan gets home next year... but not for any of the things I've already gone to school for. (Although it all relates).

24. "I'm at peace when I'm confused". I stole that from Amy (you don't mind, right?) but it just fit. When things are going well and everything seems to be falling into it's perfect little place, it stresses me out bc I just know I've missed something and am about to get slapped in the face. I am more confident and in control when I'm juggling.

25. I had dinner with Reba McEntire when I was ten years old. I loooved her. I thought it was the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

=)

This was fun, your quirkiness is very endearing. I think we think alike on several things. I'll pray for your home church if you pray for mine, we seem to be struggling with the same problem. Nothing has felt like "home" yet though. Maybe this week will be the week.

I was about to leave a comment about your search for a church (let me know if you find one that fits! I have tried 2 here in Nashville, but I'd be willing to drive to Murf. And by tried, I mean I only went once! :) ) but then I read the rest...someone actually reads my site!! :) :) It's from "You" by Switchfoot. I have so much I want to blog about, but I can't blog about the adoption until I tell my boss. I'm not telling until I know the timeline, so not until June. Maybe I'll make one they don't know about...

Once again, I love you blog. So many things sound like I could have written them. Plus those 3 gorgeous kids. :) Here's to a good February!
