Happy Birthday, Brynn & Cale!

Holy junk, we have two 2-year-olds! I can't believe it's their 2nd birthday already! I have to admit, I'm not nearly as emotionally attached to their birthdate as I am there Gotcha Day. Honestly, their birthday is just a date we were given. It doesn't hold personal significance. I don't reminisce about that day, about how tiny they were, or what they meant to me. Two years ago today I was sitting in photography class; we didn't even know these sweet babies existed then! It's still a special day... a day to recognize how much they've grown, how much they've learned, and all the amazing adventures the last two years have brought them (and us!). As they grow, it will certainly hold significance for them. It's the one and only day they met their birthparents. The ones who made them. The ones who chose to give them life. The ones who chose to give them a better life than they themselves could give. The ones who loved them enough to put their needs first.
I am beyond happy to celebrate this day with them. It's exciting for me to plan parties, to blow out candles, to buy special birthday outfits, and celebrate another year of love and life! But it's their day. It's Brynn and Cale's day to celebrate their entry into this world and it's R and H's day to remember, to reminisce. I wonder what they remember today? I wonder if they are thinking about what their babies looked like, smelled like, felt like on January 18th two years ago? I wonder what they remember about how they felt when these two precious little people entered their lives and their hearts? I don't know. I'll never know.
But I know how happy I am that this day exists! How blessed I am to have these two precious, precious things in my life! How truly lucky I am to even know them, much less be their Mommy. I will remember that today. I will remember it every day as I close my eyes and pray for another beautiful day, another year, another birthday.
Thank you so much to all the friends and family that were tonight to celebrate two happy, healthy years of life for Brynn and Cale!

For the few people in our life that weren't at their Cowboy/Cowgirl party tonight... here's a few (yeah, right) pics for your entertainment =)

The cake table, centerpieces, gift/favor table, and slider bar-

Happy Birthday to Brynn!

Happy Birthday to Cale!

The "kids" and their mustaches...

Family pics are not easy with fussy toddlers full of sugar!

And apparently, a toddler party is a great place for a mini-high school reunion!

This was such a wonderful day and party! Your babes will be so excited to look back at these pictures and their momma's mad party planning skills! On Sutton's birthday I found myself wondering if his birth family thought of him that day, what they remembered from that day and how they were feeling now. I just hope they know he is loved beyond words and well taken care of!
Your twins are such a blessing and we love them to pieces!!!
and....I stole a coulpe of your pics! My picture of the guys didn't turn out well...and my only pic of brynn, she had a straw hanging out of her mouth! So..THANKS! =)
