Somewhere Over the Rainbow

For Christmas, Layla and I got tickets from Ba to go see The Wizard of Oz at TPAC. Most of you know this, but it's my favorite movie of all time, with my favorite song of all time. I walked down the aisle to Somewhere Over the Rainbow at my wedding! Somehow in the last year and half or so, Layla has managed to fall in love with the movie as well =)

So we went last night to the show. Layla really, really wanted to look just like Dorothy, so we dug this dress out of her closet that's a size 2 (but it actually fit her quite comfortably, just too short), braided and curled her hair, and put on those magical ruby slippers. I thought she looked quite precious, personally!

The show was really cute and creative. L has talked about it all day! She thought the lion was hilarious, but Dorothy was still her favorite (however, my least favorite of the talents). I love getting to do extra special stuff that makes their little faces light up!!

HELLO personality!

None of our kids have ever actually lacked in this area, but it seems to be absolutely OOZING out of them these days! They crack me up. Especially the three of them together. (The three of them together also wear me out!).




Layla usually takes more attention than the other two combined, but she was gone for one evening leaving Brynn and Cale to entertain themselves, and each other! They had us giggling all night!



And then, for an entire 2 mins. and 48 seconds, it was quiet.

Old friends, New Year.

Well, none of us are old, and our friendship isn't that old. But we are soulmates and it IS a New Year!
Since New Years is special to Nathan and I, and we haven't been able to celebrate it together for the last several years, we were thrilled that he had New Years Eve (and New Years Day!) off this year bc of the new job! Thanks to our wonderful babysittters, we were able to go downtown to the Craig Morgan concert and ring in the New Year with our bestest friends! Nathan and Eddie really loved Craig Morgan and Leslie and I enjoyed watching all the un-sober people dance. Good times.






It was the perfect way for us to end 08 and start 09 off with a bang. It's going to be a good year. I can feel it. A very good year. Well, at least the first half anyway, I am selfishly less excited about the 2nd half when I surrender to life of a miltary wife and my sweet husband is a kajillion miles away. But we are definitely going to take advantage of Nathan's awesome new schedule and make the most of our time together until June. We worked VERY hard in 2008 and we are going to reap the benefits of that hard work this year- bring it on 2009!
