Come ups.

We finally celebrated Layla turning NINE! :)

Whoa. Nine. And WHOA. This is supposed to be her awkward stage....

She had her heart set on a class at Uptown Art with her friends. So appropriate!
The kid's paintings only happen once a month and the March date fell while she was gone on spring break, which means she got to spread her celebration out a bit.

The girls had a blast, I had a stroke.
I am WAY to OCD to just sit there and let them break the rules! I did, but it nearly killed me.
(By "rules", I mean directions.)

When all was said and done, their paintings looked great! And I loved all the little differences their creative freedom allowed afterall. Normal breathing resumed shortly after.

Subway and Baskin Robbins concluded our excursion and all three went home with hot fudge smiles.

Brynn and Cale had their first field trip!
They were so excited about going to the farm on a sunny spring day.
Too bad that didn't happen.

It was freezing and miserable. But still, they smile!

Anna Gray had her surgery last week- easy breezy lemon squeezy. They did the ABR (hearing was NORMAL! As expected.) and tubes (did not do adenoids).

She wasn't scheduled until 1:00p and I felt SO bad that she couldn't eat or drink all day. As long as I didn't eat or drink in front of her, she didn't fuss at all- although I know she had to be starving. And SLEEEPY. She probably didn't even need the anesthesia by the time she went back! She was OUT.

They told me they would give her two hours to wake up after surgery but around 30 mins is pretty typical. She woke up on her own after an hour and forty-five minutes lol. I expected confusion, frustration, hunger pains, tears...

Just a sweet little stretch and bright blue eyes! She was groggy for a bit, but she's done great!

We actually had a whole weekend with no real plans- that NEVER happens. And it was glorious. We got so much done. More please!

We nearly have a bathroom again (we demolished it shortly after moving in and then didn't have time to build it back.) Soon, soon. I also started about six other projects that I plan to finish this coming weekend. More before/after pics coming too.

Actually, I have about five more posts I plan to write over the next few days. I keep wanting to write about FOOD- ha. The world doesn't need another food blog, right? Right?! Nah. But in the last four months, I've really tried to push myself and push our family to try new foods, creative foods, better foods and I am LOVING it. Very few complaints from the peanut gallery too, I might add.

I'm thinking about sharing a recipe from time to time if that's alright!

They won't be pretty or well-photographed (phone pics, guaranteed), but they will be quick and easy and tasty!
