First... the fuzzy stuff.
Layla said, "Easter is about Jesus dying and being alive again, right?" "Right." "And that makes people want to wear bright colors and eat chocolate eggs?"..."Right." "OK."
I didn't really have a better way to explain it! And she understood it about as well as I do. And let's face it... the other part is fun too. I'll be honest, I really enjoy the "commercial" side of most holidays. I enjoy dressing everyone up for church and looking nice all day long, while we visit family- some of which we only see a couple of times a year. I like getting together and having egg hunts and relay races, I like being the Easter Bunny and leaving a trail of M&Ms throughout my house. We don't go overboard, ever, and our bunny is pretty practical (this year's baskets were geared towards next week's Disney trip! ;), but I do love it.

I also love the other side of it... I love the sorrow we, as Christians, feel when we hear about Christ's death, knowing it was selfless and for me and my sins. I love the tingle in my spine and hope and pride we feel are reminded that He has RISEN and is ALIVE again!
These are the pictures from mine and Nathan's sunrise re-baptism. What an awesome feeling to be there
together, literally washing off our past. We were fortunate enough to start our lives fresh a few years back and we listened when God spoke to us. The baptism, for us, was just icing on the cake! We were there to celebrate the new life we have created together and the new journey we are getting ready to start (even though we aren't really sure what it entails yet... we are ready for it!). To do that on Easter morning, as we also celebrated our risen Savior was kind... well, awesome :)
'How Great Thou Art' as the sun comes up....

A super-flattering picture of us chowing down on communion.

Squeaky clean! And a little cold.
I love this picture. We are clearly happy, but I love that I will always remember exactly what Kris was saying at that exact moment! haha. THAT is what pictures are for.

We were baptized by our friend, Kris Freeman. Pastor Kris will be the pastor of Revolution Church, which he is planting in White House/Cross Plains and we are a part of that. Nathan and I will be going to leadership and training conferences this summer and are really excited to see how we are going to be used in the church!
